Matching Gifts – Many companies will match donations made by their employees or shareholders on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis. If you are affiliated with a business, credit union, or bank with a matching gift program, you must request a matching gift form from them. Complete the section of the form for employees, then send it in with your donation. Area companies that participate include Bank of America, Charter Oak Credit Union, Dominion Foundation, Gartner Inc, Mass Mutual, Mutual of America Foundation, New Alliance Foundation, Pfizer, and Raytheon.
Memorial Gifts – Donate to support the education and well-being of our community’s babies and young children in honor or memory of someone special to you. Please use the online donation portal and check the box for a memorial gift or mail a check to The Riverfront Children’s Center, 476 Thames St. Groton, CT 06340 with a short note expressing your wishes.
Planned Giving – Leaving a legacy behind is an impactful way to support causes near and dear to your heart. By naming The Riverfront Children’s Center as a charitable beneficiary in your estate planning, you can rest assured that your assets will nurture the unique needs of our area’s children and families. Speak with your financial advisor or attorney to determine how a gift to The Riverfront Children’s Center fits your estate planning.
IRA Rollovers – The Charitable IRA Rollover (qualified charitable distribution or QCD) allows individuals age 70½ and older to make direct transfers of up to $100,000 per year from individual retirement accounts to qualified charities without having to count the transfers as income for federal tax purposes. Since no tax is incurred on the withdrawal, gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction but may be counted toward an individual’s required minimum distribution. Please consult your financial advisor for guidance.
Charitable Gift Annuities – A charitable gift annuity is a contract between a nonprofit and a donor in which a donor gifts cash or marketable securities to the charity and receives a fixed amount of income for life. The donor enjoys a tax deduction, tax-free payments, and the peace of mind of knowing that their gift will continue serving the babies and children of Southeastern Connecticut. For more information about setting up a charitable gift annuity, please contact Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, 68 Federal St, New London, CT 06320
